Car Upholstery Cleaning: Getting Rid of Stains

Chocolate, grease, pet urine, sweat, ink — no matter how hard you try at some point or another they are going to end up on your car upholstery. Knowing how to properly clean and get rid of all these stains is very important. With a few simple tips from cleaning experts, your car upholstery will be saved without damaging it. Because regardless of how hard we try to keep it clean, our cars will get stained over time.

What You Need:

  • 1 cup of baking soda
  • 4 cups of water

Mix together the baking soda and water. Blot your DIY cleaning solution onto the stain with a clean towel. Allow to sit for one hour, then vacuum. However, if vacuuming doesn’t remove it all, don’t panic. You’ll need water and a clean towel (or sponge). Simply apply the water to the area that you’re trying to clean and absorb as much as possible with a towel. This will remove any baking soda that may have gotten deep into the fibers.

It’s true that there are expensive car upholstery cleaners available in the market. But there’s no need to spend your money. This simple DIY solution will not only clean the stain, but eliminate the bad odor as well.

Although there is the option of doing it yourself, sometimes it is better to get a professional cleaner in to do a job rather than attempt it yourself. If the stains are really persistent, it’ll take you a lot of time to do it and the quality will not be as good. Seriously not nearly as good. We invest a lot of time and money to have to best equipment out there for this.
